Gota De Agua

Gota de Agua is a large freshwater lake located on the continent and is considered the second largest of its kind. One of the defining features of the lake is the presence of luminescent eels, known to come to the lake's surface in the morning, creating a dazzling display that resembles lightning in the clouds. The lake is also known for its unusually warm waters, which make it an attractive destination for scientific expeditions, including the Tinkers' Trinity and the Green Grove.

The lake is relatively underexplored despite its size and allure, with only a few small research settlements on its southern and eastern banks. These settlements owe their existence to the relative proximity of the lake to Solar Dale, especially compared to the much larger and more remote Tartaruga Lake located in the far North.

The lake's temperature is uneven, which is partly explained by the presence of geothermal springs on its southern coast. Additionally, Gota de Agua is home to steam lamperns, remarkable creatures known for their ability to survive in scorching environments. These creatures are often seen emerging from geyser holes and are said to lay their eggs in boiling underground chambers, which are inaccessible to most predators.

Scientists have debated whether Gota de Agua is connected to the Amphisbaenas River by underground channels, as both water bodies share some common species. The bottom of the lake remains largely unexplored, with only a rough map available. The lake bottom is known to be uneven, with aphotic zones that go as deep as 300 feet in some areas. The lake's exploration has focused on shallow waters, resulting in the discovery of countless new species.

One of the lake's most intriguing phenomena occurs around the middle of the lake during every full moon. At this time, thousands of tiny organisms come to the surface, displaying their luminescent colors to the stars. However, the reason for their gathering in such a small area remains a mystery, as does what they do during the rest of the moon cycle. One biologist from Green Grove recorded an encounter with a person in a diving suit during one of these moon cycles, which is puzzling as no scientific expedition had made such an order. It is unclear why someone would bother to dive when there is still much to explore near the shore.

Despite extensive searches, no records have been found regarding the use of diving suits to explore Gota de Agua, neither in the archives of the Green Grove nor of Tinker's Trinity in Solar Dale. The books of Profit Priests may hold some answers, but these are not subject to public disclosure.
